A new Peugeot RCZ Sports Coupe has been presented to Jade Thompson, the twenty- year-old winner of Britain & Ireland's Next Top Model. Was I the only person in the county not to watch that programme? Either way, this striking French rocket ship was a prize in the popular show and will no doubt earn its driver plenty of attention.

The ex-insurance advisor from Stoke-on-Trent was, understandably, delighted to accept the RCZ. She said:
“This car is amazing and just what I have always wanted. I love that distinctive double- bubble roof the most, and I just love those curves. I chose black because to me it is perfect – shiny and sleek.”

It styling is out of this world and the handling makes thrill-seekers grin from ear to ear.

The most powerful GT THP version produces 200bhp, has six-speed manual transmission, rockets to 62mph in 7.6 seconds, and is capable of a mighty 146mph. Interestingly, despite its super-speedy performance, this RCZ is fairly economical.

Expect to average 40.9mpg. Alternatively, those content to hit 62mph in 8.7 seconds can have the 2.0-litre Sport HDi 163bhp diesel trim. This beautifully sculpted fashion statement averages a purse-pleasing 53.2mpg.
